Severnaja

Bio

Severnaja is an experimental industrial metal band from Vaasa, Finland.

Concept

Internal and external wastelands. Post-apocalyptic aesthetics. A dark future awaits. The name Severnaja is symbolic for the feeling our music evokes in us. Severnaja is a projection of the desolation within - your mind is the screen. Our musical style fuses aggressive industrial metal with glacial electronic soundscapes.

Members

Vladimir Lumi - vocals (2008 - present)

Ankherias - synthesizers and programming (2004 - present)

Ljungeld - guitar (2004 - present)

Timeline

Severnaja was formed in 2004 when Ankh and Ljungeld decided it was time to synthesize their vision of a bleak future into music. In 2006 musical efforts were stepped up and the first demo tracks were created. Work continued throughout 2007 and by the end of the year almost everything except the vocals had been recorded for the coming album. Finally, in the beginning of 2008 Vladimir Lumi joined Severnaja as vocalist and completed the line-up. In all this time Severnaja's sound has become distilled into a unique mixture of different styles. The as of yet unnamed album-in-work featuring around ten tracks will be released when it is done.
